IPW’s Chaos “Helloween” ‘too violent for TV’, will be exclusive part of their Twitch channel roll out
Iconic Professional Wrestling announced today (Oct. 20) they are partnering with Twitch to launch an IPW channel, set to start tomorrow. They will be airing the Chaos “Helloween” broadcast, now deemed “too violent for television”, Sunday October 28th. That will happen at 9PM PST, after a Chaos rerun goes off the air on Heroes & Icons network.
The Twitch channel in general is a good thing for the upstart promotion. The gaming platform has been getting in the pro wrestling business more and more this year.
IPW will have some original programming on Twitch, such as episodes of Metal house shows, a tentative video podcast called “The Nevermind Project” with Jason Nevermind talking wrestling, and a possible post-Chaos talk show. They mention “pay-per-view events in a second window” but it’s not clear what that means regarding their current non-existent PPVs.
You can read all about the channel in the press release below.
LOS ANGELES – Iconic Professional Wrestling, a subsidiary of Iconic Media LLC, today announced the launch of a new channel on Twitch, the world’s leading social video service. IPW’s channel (www.twitch.tv/iconicprowrestling) will feature a 24-hour live stream and exclusive weekly programming.
The IPW Channel will launch on Saturday, Oct. 27 with a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week stream of content that leads up to the debut of IPW’s first supercard, Helloween, on Sunday, Oct. 28 at 9:00 p.m. PST immediately following a rerun of Chaos on Heroes & Icons.
The IPW Channel on Twitch will feature exclusive content, including live events and house shows featuring top stars in professional wrestling. The channel will also feature lifestyle programming showcasing IPW Icons outside of the ring – from diets and workouts to relationships and travel. Other exclusive shows on the channel include:
Monday nights: The Nevermind Project with a new weekly video podcast. Produced and hosted by longtime collaborator, Jason Nevermind. The Nevermind Project will cover all of the latest news in professional wrestling and feature special guest interviews, live calls, chat interaction, contests with prizes, and much more.
Wednesday nights: IPW Icon, Jason Dave, will host God’s Gift, as the wrestling veteran offers his unique take on professional wrestling, politics, sports and popular culture.
Sunday nights: At 9:00 p.m. PST, The Stooges (Patrick Nelson, Rose Marie, and Todd Crumb) will host Stooges’ Storyline with their irreverent three screen perspective on the flagship Chaos show Sundays on Heroes & Icons.
Programming for the channel will also include past and present episodes of the flagship Chaos show and pay-per-view events on a second window.
“Our expansion on Twitch marks another important milestone in our digital expansion,” said Joshua Samson, Esquire, managing-member of IPW. “The interactive content and larger-than-life personalities of Iconic Pro Wrestling are a perfect fit for the platform, whose passionate communities have demonstrated an increased appetite for professional wrestling and live events. As we adapt to new content consumption methods, our partnership with Twitch gives us an opportunity to interact directly with our audience, while engaging and growing our fan base across the world.”
