Iconic Professional Wrestling is coming to Facebook.
The pro wrestling company signed a deal with Facebook to stream a new “tag-team centric monthly show” directly on the social network. That means IPW will feature tag-team matches utilizing its former house show “Metal” as previously rumored.
Word is going out that IPW is looking to bolster its current roster by hiring tag teams whether newly formed or well established. Facebook is paying IPW for a dozen 20-minute episodes, but a company spokesperson declined to share financial terms of the deal.
As with the other professional content Facebook has acquired, Metal will exist inside Facebook Watch, the company’s new video tab. Facebook has been paying publishers to create exclusive shows for the service, and has also been paying for streaming rights for sporting events, like college basketball games. The hope is that Facebook becomes a video destination, not just a place people stumble across video while looking at their friends’ vacation photos.
The first episode of Metal is rumored to air as early as March.

There have been whispers in the night that all interest in promoting Number One Contender to the IPW Heavyweight Champion, Stasi Herveaux, in the hunt for the Heavyweight title is gone. Although Stasi remains the Number One Contender after being defeated at “New Year, Who Dis?”, it is rumoured that there will be no plans for any kind of push. If this is to be believed it is clear that Oliver Black will retain the Heavyweight Championship if they are scheduled for rematch.
Editor's analysis: Though none of the information can be substantiated it is clear that the push Herveaux was enjoying has seemed to cool off considerably. Any buildup to a rematch between her and Black is basically nonexistent, the idea of Herveaux teaming with Astrid Sedin as Wicked has been replaced with Brianna Rissi as the Queen Bees, and the general mistrust of Herveaux by nearly everyone in the company supports that IPW is getting out of the Stasi Herveaux business.

There is said to be a lot of heat backstage between Matthew “Xstatic” Johnson and the Executive Committee, leading to The Unforgiven threatening to not re-sign his contract with IPW after the “New Year, Who Dis?” supershow.
It is no secret that he has been contemplating retirement for several months and wanted to get into acting. Because of this he was promised a role in the film, "Murdering Mojo", partially funded by Iconic Media LLC, but when Xstatic‘s retirement talk became more serious, Joshua Samson, Esquire flip-flopped and presented the role to Acrimony. Some see this as a message to Xstatic that “you’re nothing without us”. In other words, IPW is bitter that he just wants to retire, so they aren’t going to help him with his acting career.
