Okay, so I've pitched this to Tate and just gathering an idea as to popular support.
Now that we're into our second year and AA is on the books, I have a plan. That plan is the Icons Cup.
It will work in the same way as New Japan's G1 Climax - two leagues of say 4-6 wrestlers each. Everyone wrestles everyone in a round robin over several weeks and you get 2 points for a win and 1 point for a draw (0 for a loss). In NJPW no titles are on the line so the Champion can enter and go for a win. In our case we could have the TV title up for grabs if that was desired.
At the end, the highest point scorers in each bracket face each other in the final. If two wrestlers are on the same no. of points then the winner is whoever beat the other. In the event of a three way tie then we'd have a triple threat to determine the block winner.
Either way you end up with a 1 on 1 final and the winner wins the Icons Cup.
Even if you don't make it there, the tournament is an opportunity to build some new feuds for the new year. Plus, there's always a chance that you might pin the World Champion...
1 RP per match with 2 RPs for the final.
