“Victory, it's a concept understood by all, but obtained by few. Actor Will Smith said that victory, comes from failure. So, by his logic, anyone can achieve victories. Others believe that there are simply people who are destined for greatness. The true question that should be asked is, are your victories someone else’s failures, or simply rewards for your hard work and dedication?”
Rain pours down on, what seems to be a small apartment complex. As the camera nears a specific apartment, on the first floor. There is a clear “eviction notice” stamped on the door, right below apartment number “05”. The door is not shut, the storm brewing outdoors begins to find its way throughout the creases of the apartment.
Sitting on the couch, is Jason Jacobs. His TV, is paused on his LWA Championship match against Juan Rodriguez Jr. Jasonis taking notes on every detail, as suddenly there is a knock on his door. As JJ turns, his eyes widen as Anna stands in the doorway. Her golden blonde hair runs down her back, like paint on a blank canvas. Jason gazes at her, his pupils dilated.
“Are you going to just stare, or do you want to talk about this?” Anna says as she looks at JJ, with a very upset expression on her face.
”Talk about what? Last I checked there was nothing that needed to be discussed with you. You took that away a long time ago, Anna.” Jason says to Anna as he resumes the footage of his match against Juan Rodriguez.
”Don't pretend you’re any better than me. You’re continuing to avoid your problems for what? Some fame? A few cheap victories? Seriously what's the reason to keep this charade going? Just move back to Tampa. Just please come back to me, we can finally start a family, JJ. We can finally live a real life, no cameras, no Robert. Just us, like you always wanted.”
”You mean what I used to want, you broke that trust Anna. You made me never want anything besides this, ever. All I want is to wrestle. To win. The only thing on my mind is this game.”
Anna and Jason share a sympathetic glance at one another, their eyes meeting, lips clinching, and minds wondering. Anna turns to walk out into the storm, but stops and turns back to JJ for one last remark. As her mouth opens, her mind shuts down. Anna quickly turns around and storms away from Jason’s apartment. Jason moves from his couch to the door, as he watches Anna climb into a taxi cab, he slams the door in his own face.
Jason tries to refocus, sitting back down to continue to take notes when someone knocks on his door once again, this time the knock is a little quieter and almost inaudible to all ears except for Jason’s. As he opens the door, Anna stands in the rain, her hair drenched and her clothes damp. The two share another exchange of glances until finally they break and kiss one another. As she enters the home she looks at Jason with a surprised look on her face as she notices a bra carelessly thrown down on his couch.
“Jason… What in the hell is that?” She asks before walking towards the bra, noticing its a tad smaller than her own.
Jason turns from her and slyly smirks as she asks the question. His entire personality changes and he almost doesn’t even look like the same person anymore. Jason turns back to Anna and begins to laugh hysterically.
“So, now you see how it feels. Now you see what breaking someone does, right? That’s okay though. Because since you’re the beautiful girl you can get away with it? No… See, that’s not okay.” Jason says
“But this looks like…”
“It is. I enjoyed every second of it too Anna.”
Anna slaps Jason in the face as she walks up the stairs to see another blonde haired girl, who looks almost identical to her, laying in Jason’s bed. Jason walks up the stairs and his smirk returns again, watching Anna’s every move.
“So, I think you’ve met Elizabeth, right?”
“You know I have…. How could you? My own sister? I just…. Goodbye Jason.”
Anna storms out of Jason’s apartment into the storm as he turns to face her. His smirk gone, and his mind clouded by too many thoughts to count.
