Captain All Star
VS Lash Donohue
The crowd in the IPW arena seem to be really pumped for this show. As per the protocol, there are always a series of untelevised dark matches where IPW prospects can test their mitre. Neither Captain All Star OR Lash Donohue received an entrance, but that doesn't mean that Lash hasn't managed to get the IPW crowd going!
Commentary: "All Star and Donohue now, circling each other. The IPW crowd really seem to be getting behind the youngster with his rhythmic clapping!"
There are a series of grunts from the two combatants as they square up in the middle of the ring and Capt. seems to be getting the upper hand early..
Commentary: "Donohue losing so far in this battle of strength. He's finding it hard to maintain his footing.."
The crowd pops as All Star shoves Lash roughly and this causes him to hit the mat hard.
Commentary: "Donohue kips up with a war cry this IPW crowd really get behind! This guy won't be intimidated so easily!"
There is a short commotion in the crowd when Lash goes for a hard right which Captain All Star ducks under and makes for the ropes!
Commentary: "Good ring awareness by Captain! All Star now, on the rebound! Clotheslii.."
The crowd gets a little hotter as Lash dives down flat and forces Captain to jump over him, nearly tripping up in the process. There is a laugh and a cheer as Lash touches his finger to his temple and then speeds off in the other direction.
Commentary: "Donohue initiates the criss-cross! And All Star looks severely annoyed!"
There is continuous laughter as Captain and Lash pass each other by a couple of times, each time Captain trying and failing to nail Lash with his hard clothesline while the youngster executes showy army-style rolls and does a flip to avoid him between all of the mayhem of the criss-cross!
Commentary: "It's becoming known that this Donohue kid is a bit of a showoff! Oops, it stops now!"
Captain managed to finally grab onto Lash's arm and draw him in..
Commentary: "All Star now, looking for a hard Irish whip into the cor..nope, denied! Donohue sends All Star into the opposing corner!"
The crowd had been getting hotter and hotter and they roared along with Lash as he took a steaming run up to a dazed looking Captain and then took flight..
Commentary: "OVERHEAD CANNONBALL SENTON!!!"
A loud sympathy pop erupts from the crowd as All Star moves in a hurry and Lash hits the corner hard, a look of agony crossing his face as he slumped into the tree of woe..
Commentary: "All Star seems to smell blood in the water! Lash is a sitting duck for so many things right now! But Captain All-Star has him off the turnbuckles and up for a POWERB...WOW!!"
A look of surprise crosses All Star's face as Lash manages to roll back, and All Star finds himself dumped on his back!
Commentary: "Lash rolls free, he's turning All Star over and he's sinching in his DONOHUE DEATH LOCK!! No..too good to be true!"
The crowd seems really unhappy as Lash is instructed by the referee to break the hold.
Commentary: "Too damn close to the ropes! Captain All Star made a desperate bid to stay alive! This could have been an upset!"
Captain All Star slumps as Lash breaks the hold and then jumps up and down on the spot, frustration clearly taking its toll..
Commentary: "I think Donohue has had enough here.."
The crowd eggs Lash on as he hits the ropes and takes another run up..
Commentary: "Flipping legdrop! No! Captain rolled out of the way, small package!"
Lash wriggles maniacally as Captain manages to get a one and a half before Lash surprises him with a reversal!
Commentary: "Inside cradle! One, two..Captain rolls out.."
The crowd's suspense grows deep as Captain rolls through with a rather illegal pin on Lash, earning a boo as he Tops it off with his feet on the ropes!
Commentary: "No ref! Don't count that!! One! Tw..HUH?!"
In an amazing display of strength and the anger that lives deep inside him, Lash roars and manages to link Captain's arms, arching back and using his upper body strength to get his shoulders off the mat and get to his knees.
Commentary: "There's a reversal by Lash, there's a look of terror on Captain's face as he's dragged off the ropes to his feet! Lash is keeping that double underhook linked while he drags Captain to his feet! What's he got in mind?!"
Lash grunts as the two men are both to their feet now, Lash with the underhook locked in, he attempts to spin but Captain locks his leg behind Lash and prevents it!
Commentary: "Possibly backslide attempt by Lash, denied by Captain! But look at this!"
The loudest POP of the night occurs as Lash lets out a primal yell and knees Captain in the ribs before the IPW crowd bears witness to possibly one of the sickest looking finishing moves they have seen!
Crowd: "OHHHHHHH!!!!"
Commentary: "GOOD NIGHT! Captain's head spiked into the middle of that ring at a sickening angle, that's the Bury-Go-Round and that's the match!"
Captain looks as though he may need assistance as "Shine" hits the P.A and a shocked looking Lash leaps to his feet and soaks in the long, loud bout of adulation he receives with an exhausted grin, and a fist pump which earns him a further pop.
Commentary: "What a move! I think Taps will wanna keep a leash on this kid, ladies and gentlemen!"
The tape fades out as Lash celebrates on the top rope with his theme and the crowd still booming, and Captain still having not moved a muscle
